Everything you need to know about Companyfile and business disclosure for banks.
Companyfile is a structured business disclosure platform. It guides you through an adaptive questionnaire that covers all the topics a bank reviews during Customer Due Diligence (CDD) — ownership, business model, money flows, geographic exposure, and more. The output is a professional report you can share with your bank, accountant or auditor.
CDD stands for Customer Due Diligence. It's the process banks use to verify the identity of their clients, understand their business activities, assess potential risks for money laundering or terrorist financing, and determine whether a business relationship meets regulatory requirements. In the Netherlands, this is mandated by the Wwft (Wet ter voorkoming van witwassen en financieren van terrorisme).
If your bank has asked you for company information, UBO details, or supporting documents — you need a Companyfile. Instead of responding with scattered emails and incomplete documents, you can create one structured disclosure report that proactively answers everything the bank will ask. This reduces onboarding time, prevents follow-up questions, and shows your company in its best light.
No. Companyfile is a structuring and reporting tool — not a legal advisory service. It helps you organize and present your business information in a format banks expect to see. For specific legal or regulatory questions, always consult a qualified compliance advisor or lawyer.
Most companies complete their Companyfile in 20–45 minutes. The adaptive questionnaire only shows questions relevant to your specific company type and structure, so you won't waste time on irrelevant sections. You can save your progress and return at any time.
The report is a professionally formatted Word document covering: company profile, ownership and UBO structure, business model, revenue and money flows, customer and supplier landscape, geographic exposure, sensitive activities, and supporting documentation. Try the demo to see an example.
